Review: Forged Battalion

Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:47 am

Once upon a time, in the deep prehistory of 1995, a little company named Westwood Studios released a game that created a legacy that spread throughout real-time strategy gaming.

The tech tree is why I gave up playing. I'm not looking to grind an RTS.

This is what I want: Launch game, select sides, load custom armies, pick map, click start.

I don't want any metagame. I don't want to think about anything after the match ends.

I have always found it pretty amazing that Petroglyph has yet to create a strategy hit.

Don't make me throw my copy of Empire at War at you.

And to be fair, Universe at War was also pretty enjoyable, but not a break-out hit.
