Zulu: Great movie, questionable history.

CS Bourne was a young man and was offered a VC but turned it down for a MC and a commission. He commanded a training base in WW I and died in 1936.

Hook was a teetotaler and model soldier.

Chard and Bromhead didn't argue over command. Company C's actual commander left Chard in command while he left to find an expected supply shipment.

The Dutch preacher was nowhere near the camp.

The stampede didn't happen.

Most British casualties were from rifle fire, not assegais.

I'm not diissing the flick - just correcting some details.
