Great list!

I think it misses two important entries though:

La Grande Guerre, which is a classic monster on the topic, although a playable one. Besides the detailed military aspects, it focuses on politics, diplomacy, and the national will of the countries at war, in quite flavourful ways.
I would rank this as my personal favourite, even if its not without its flaws.

A quite recent game is Balance of Powers. It has less detail and chrome than LGG (especially when it comes to diplomacy and internal politics), but it is a very elegant and smart system, and I think strikes the best balance between realism and playability.
