The Shores of Tripoli Review

Tue Jan 12, 2021 10:51 am

Well, this was a super pleasant surprise. If you remember my previous article, I talked about 'asymmetrical' games becoming the in thing in the cardboard, paper map wargaming world. ... w-wargame/

Hey game reviewers! Whatever you do be sure not to let us know how many players a game will accommodate. This is useless and unnecessary information that your readers have no interest in knowing whatsoever. We want to buy the game first and then be surprised with how many players can actually participate.
Seriously guys... why do you (along with nearly all game reviewers) refuse to divulge this important info? I???d really like to know.

@Startoker. A thoughtful review on an interesting game, and you get snarky over something that took me ten seconds to Google? The game takes 1-2 players.

I'm pretty sure Bill mentions towards the end it's a two player game, but I might have imagined that.

If you come to the review through the home page, the snapshot tile shows that it is 2 players. And it's certainly implied in the review.

But on to more important matters -- thank you for giving the T-bot a try and reporting on its success. A lot of games have tacked-on artificial opponents that don't work very well.

It's a good review and it's enough for me to put this one on my want list. And now I'm off to watch the storming of Tripoli from _The Wind and the Lion_. Because that's how I'm going to win TSOT! :-)
