Review: On to Paris, the Franco-Prussian War 1870 - 1871

Most of the board wargames (hex/counter) I have on the shelf come from visits to the three big HMGS miniature conventions every year. ... 1870-1871/

I agree about Compass Games, quality products. I recently bought Red Star White Eagle and it's excellent. I used to own the original too and always thought it was a fun game but this version is superb. Larger hexes for big fingers and older eyes, ditto for print on the counters, easy enough rules, lots of player aids.

A buddy and I are playing it right now and having a great time with it - though last session my constant rolling of 1's is greatly impeding the march of the Bolsheviks on Warsaw. I think it is a capitalist conspiracy.
