This Black Friday weekend, there are all sorts of Magic: the Gathering deals on offer. If you're looking to get your hands on a preconstructed commander deck, here's a selection of three that are currently available on Amazon for less than $40 each.
First up is Revival Trance. This red, white, and black deck is probably better known as the Final Fantasy 6 precon. It's got a graveyard focus. The commander, Terra, Herald of Hope, mills two cards at the start of each combat phase and can reanimate creatures with 3 or less power whenever she attacks.
There are many other cards in Revival Trance that can also either revive the dead or be cast from the graveyard. The MSRP of this deck is $69.99 (£52.82), but it's currently available for $39.49 (£29.80).
Next is Peace Offering. This is a blue, green, and white group hug deck from Bloomburrow, the adorable animal-centric set from 2024. This deck aims to help everyone at the table out, letting your opponents draw plenty of cards. The idea is to lull your opponents into a false sense of security, and have them fight one another while protecting you, by making friends with everyone at the table.
Then, at the last minute, when only one opponent remains, catch them off guard and swoop in for the kill. This deck has no officially listed price from Wizards of the Coast, but Amazon is currently selling it for $38.49 (£29.05).
Finally comes Living Energy, a green, blue, and red deck from Aetherdrift which was released in February this year. Energy is an alternative resource system that debuted in the set Kaladesh in 2016 (damn it's scary to think that Kaladesh released almost a decade ago). Many cards in this deck can generate energy, while other cards can spend it to produce a wide variety of beneficial effects.
Saheeli, Radiant Creator (the commander) can do both. Saheeli generates a point of energy whenever you play an artifact or an artificer, and then has the option to spend three energy, at the start of combat, in order to create a 5/5 artifact creature token that's a clone of another permanent that you control. This deck would usually cost $44.99 (£33.95) , but it's currently available for just $27.84 (£21.01).
