It's safe to say that Pokémon 151 is one of the most beloved sets in the history of the Pokémon TCG. It was a tremendous success, even by the high standards of a card game where stock frequently sells out during preorders. Now, a series of figurines is being released that promise to bring the artwork of Pokémon 151 into 3D. These figures lovingly recreate the images that inspired them, and they're even available for a pretty low price. Unfortunately, they're only due to come out in China.
The page advertising these figures (which, perhaps unsurprisingly, is written in simplified Chinese) went live on October 31st.
According to the website, the 151 figure series will release on the 28th November. Each box contains one of 13 possible figurines that match a piece of artwork from Pokémon 151. They also offer a foil card matching up with the enclosed 3D Pokémon model, along with two five card booster packs.
These boxes are available for 88 Chinese Yuan, which is $12.38 (£9.41).
Not all of the figures offered by this product are created equal. There's a rare Machoke model that shows up much less frequently than all of the others. It recreates the artwork of the illustrated rare Machoke 177/165, potted plants and all.
These aren't the first Pokémon TCG products to be exclusively released for the Chinese Market. Special "gem packs" are only available in the country, which contain exclusive art treatments that can't be found anywhere else.
