Pokémon Paldean Fates is one of my favorite expansions of the Scarlet & Violet era. That's not only because it has my ultimate chase card (Mew ex #232), but because all of the cards were collectible - even the most basic Pokémon cards in this expansion felt worthy of keeping in my binder. As stock levels drop, it's quickly gone up in value, but you shouldn't buy from big retailers to get a booster bundle at below market value.
While the chance of pulling one of the most expensive Pokémon cards is always extremely rare, the chase is still interesting, and that tiny opportunity to pull 'Bubble Mew' is the only thing keeping me from sleeping at night. Like many Pokémon TCG expansions, this special set (meaning there are no booster boxes, sadly) is short on stock, and the market value of most collection products has skyrocketed.
While Mew ex #232 is arguably the best Pokémon card of Paldean Fates (and the priciest, too), there are plenty of other chases to keep you pulling. Charizard ex #234 is the second major chase of the expansion, offering a dark, more brooding Terastal take on our favorite draconic 'mon. In contrast, the simple beauty of Gardevoir ex #233 is peaceful, and almost as gorgeous as the aforementioned Bubble Mew.
There are also the various 'baby shiny' cards you can find, which are the Secret Rare cards of the Pokémon set. They're normal-looking cards featuring some of the cutest Pokémon around, with little stars surrounding them, and make adorable little additions for your collection. They're not as hard to pull as the SIRs or IRs of Paldean Fates, yet they're still just as collectible in my opinion.
The Pokémon Paldean Fates booster bundle is currently sitting at a roughly $95 market price. That's six of the best Pokémon packs at roughly $15 a pop, but Walmart has them at over $100 for a booster bundle, while Amazon has single pack listings for roughly $22 each. That's why I suggest going over to TCGPlayer to secure a booster bundle at below market value and save money compared to the major retailers. Why spend more for the same product?
