Mega Charizard X flying and using an attack in Pokemon Phantasmal Flames artwork

As the end of the year approaches, the last chance to grab some Pokémon cards is upon us. No cause for panic, considering that almost all sets are currently flying off store shelves anyway, but there's a small window until stores shut and deliveries are postponed, so if you've been hoping to get plenty of packs as cheaply as possible, then this Pokémon Phantasmal Flames booster box listing below market price isn't one to pass on.

While I've prayed to Arceus that the hype bubble would eventually pop, that seems (unfortunately) not to be the case. Pokémon TCG products are still going out of stock ridiculously quickly, and while Phantasmal Flames cards have been dropping in price quite fast, it's not a clear-cut victory for collectors just yet. Maybe a battle has been won, but the war is not over (and by war, I mean the 30th Anniversary year that's about to begin).

I'm getting a bit negative and somber over here, but there are some positive vibes too, I promise. The last of 2025's Pokémon sets is an absolute banger, with my Phantasmal Flames review scoring it an impressive 8/10. I'm not a huge fan of the double-Charizard-chase setup, but there's no shortage of beautiful Illustration Rares to hopefully pull, and I love the artwork for even the common cards I pulled. It's safe to say this is an excellent expansion to cap off the rollercoaster of this year.

Even though I'm not a fan of the 'zard, I cannot lie and pretend that the Mega Charizard X ex #125 SIR isn't a stunning take on the iconic 'mon. Even if it's not a personal chase of mine (that Piplup IR is the true chase, in my eyes), it's still an excellent addition to any collection, and considering the great pull rates, it seems like there's a solid chance of pulling it. I can't say the same about those Eeveelutions from Prismatic.

Overall, it's a stunning set that is deserving of a place in your binder, and of course, your money. While there are no products at retail price right now, the Pokémon Phantasmal Flames booster box is currently $246 at Walmart. That puts it ten bucks below the market average right now (roughly $255 according to TCGPlayer, although tons of listings are charging far more). For that, you're getting 36 packs of the newest Pokémon set, giving you more chances to score that Charizard chase - or the Mega Hyper Rare, if that's your vibe.
