Love it or don't own it, Pokémon 151 is one of those particularly nostalgia-filled expansions for the Pokémon TCG that's become so hard to track down, it may as well be an urban legend. I've never seen a booster pack outside of images on the internet. But I no longer need to stroke my screen, sounding like Gollum, waiting for that day to come - because right now, Amazon has a Japanese Pokémon 151 booster box with 20 packs at below market price.

Loads of Pokémon sets have been released since 151's debut back in late 2023. But, despite many newer, shinier packs coming along to turn our heads, 151 remains a struggle to find, thanks to the consistent hype bubble that's only grown since Pokémon Pocket released last year.

That hype wave has driven up demand for basically every Pokémon product you can think of, but 151 is definitely one of the worst casualties, and no matter which regional version you buy, there's a good chance you'll have to pay a fair amount above retail.

Some newer collection products, like Blooming Waters' release earlier this year, give you a chance to score some Pokémon 151 at retail, but they're far and few between, typically falling victim to scalpers attempting to resell at extortionate prices. So, if you can find anything below market price, I really recommend it. You have a chance of ripping packs and getting the best Pokémon cards without paying a huge premium.

That gives you another shot at scoring some of the most expensive Pokémon cards in the expansion at a better-than-market price. Even if it's not the English version, the Japanese expansion is practically the same, and I've gone on and on about how I prefer Japanese Pokémon cards to their English counterparts.

You've still got one of the best Charizard cards with Charizard ex #201 leading the charge, showing the fan-favorite 'mon flying high above the ground. It also has the Mewtwo #183 art rare, which made its way through a promo in the English version, but still stuns as a potential chase in your packs. There's also the adorable Pikachu #173 - which is also available in English, but I prefer the quality of the holo in the Japanese card.

So, you're not missing out by getting Japanese versions, and for collectors like me, that's a big plus. Right now, you can grab a booster box of the Japanese Pokémon 151 for just $184.90 at Amazon, which is below market price according to TCGPlayer. Admittedly, that works out to roughly $9 a pack, but TCGPlayer has English 151 packs at $16 each, so you're getting more chances at those chase cards for a lot less cash.

And forget the newest Pokémon set - who needs Mega Evolution when you're still ripping sweet 151 packs? After grabbing this deal, make sure to share your pulls with our Wargamer Discord community, and we can all discuss which of 151's nostalgia-heavy cards make for the cutest Pokémon. I won't take anything but Charmander as the right answer, to be honest.
