The 9 biggest chase cards in Pokémon Start Deck 100 Battle Collection

Japan's Start Deck 100 has loads of upcoming Pokémon cards from the next set, and includes some real rarities with serious price tags.

Pokemon art showing a confused looking Pikachu

The Start Deck 100 Battle Collection launched in Japan on December 19, and Pokémon TCG fans worldwide are pretty excited about this product - not just because it has spoilers for our next Pokémon set Ascended Heroes.

Each Start Deck 100 box features one of 100 random prebuilt decks (102 actually), made up of a mixture of reprints and new cards. It's a neat idea, and of course there are some exciting new rare Pokémon cards available, many of which are currently selling for hefty sums on the secondary market.

That's our focus today, so without further ado…

Here are the biggest chase cards in the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection:

Mega Charizard Y ex Gold - $2000

There's a shiny new gold variant of Mega Charizard Y found in a special variant of the 100 decks, and as you'd expect, it's selling for a ton right now. We don't really know how rare this card is yet, but if it's anything like the other Mega Hyper Rare gold cards, the pull rates will be absurdly low.

Pikachu ex SIR - $369

We've had a lot of full art Pikachu cards lately, but it has to be said this is one of the nicest. With the super cute confused expression and beautiful sun-dappled forest surroundings, it's easy to see why this SIR is the most sought after.

Lillie's Clefairy ex SIR - $285

This product took one of the most expensive cards from Journey Together and gave it a few tweaks to create something arguably even cuter. It's a meta relevant card featuring a popular Pokémon and fan-favorite trainer, so the price point makes a lot of sense.

Mega Meganium ex SIR - $125

The super secret deck 101 features three SIR cards, with one for each of the Johto starters in their mega forms. Right now Mega Meganium is the priciest of the three, but they're shifting a lot.

Mega Feraligatr ex SIR - $111

Somehow, they managed to make the toilet seat lid behind Feraligatr look pretty cool. here.

Boss' Orders (Corbeau) SIR - $111

A staple of the Pokémon TCG, which recently got reprinted so it would still be legal in the Standard format, Boss' Orders is back here with a full art version featuring a new character.

The villain from Pokémon Legends Z-A, Corbeau, is a short king with great style and one of the best parts of the game. So no wonder enamored fans are snapping up copies of this card.

Mega Emboar ex SIR - $97

For once, it's the fire type starter card that seems to be the least popular, which surprises me, because Mega Emboar's design is fantastic. We're still close to the $100 mark though, so it's by no means a cheap SIR just yet.

Eevee IR - $47

Dropping into the Illustration Rare cards, in the number one spot we have an Eevee that is trying too damn hard to be cute. We'll admit though, it's totally pulling it off.

Erika's Tangela IR - $36

An underrated Kanto Pokémon that's so often forgotten, Tangela has never looked better than it does in this full art, which is so much prettier than the 151 version. This artwork has a Ghibli-esque quality to it, and the card's value has probably been boosted by Erika.
