Sylveon ex eeveelution SIR from Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I strongly believe that Japanese cards are much better than English Pokémon cards. The set that converted me into a believer was the Japanese version of Prismatic Evolutions - and it just happens that you can grab a Pokémon Terastal Festival booster box below market value with this latest deal.

When special Pokémon sets are released in English we typically don't get booster boxes, but they're a common part of the Japanese version of the Pokémon TCG. You can find boxes for any major high-value expansion, including 151, Paldean Fates, and, of course, Prismatic Evolutions. And while I was disappointed with the English Prismatic Evolutions set, I had the opposite opinion of Terastal Festival.

I wrote a feature about opening Terastal Festival packs before Prismatic's release: the cards were gorgeous and the rares were plentiful. My experience of cracking packs from the English version was… underwhelming, to say the least. Opening Terastal Festival I pulled both Pikachu ex #236 and Eevee ex #224, two of the chases I was most sought after, both of them in one box. Now that was definitely lucky, but my pulls overall were so much better than the nothing I got from 36 packs of Prismatic Evolutions.

Umbreon ex and Leafeon ex from Pokemon Terastal Festival with an outer glow around them

Am I ranting a little bit? Ahem - I'll focus on the positives of Terastal: you can also get the Eeveelution chases from Terastal, too, including the coveted Umbreon ex #217 and Sylveon ex #212 options, and there's the same chance to score a god pack full of SIRs - a small, minute, very slim chance, but an opportunity nonetheless.

Leaving aside questions of quality - and I admit, my pack pulling experiences could just be luck - as long as stock of Prismatic Evolutions remains slim, the Japanese version is the only affordable way to get hold of boosters. You can grab a Pokémon Terastal Festival booster box from Walmart for $100.94, less than the current market value.
