While there are six expansions for the brilliant Star Wars Unlimited TCG already, there's no rush to get to the latest one. In fact, many of the older sets are still readily available to buy. Case in point: this amazing Star Wars Unlimited Twilight of the Republic booster box, which holds 24 packs, for under $40 in the Miniature Market Black Friday sale. That's a deal that will be altered further if you wait around - and by altered, I mean go back to standard price.
Star Wars Unlimited is, in my opinion, a TCG that doesn't get the praise it deserves. I still love my Pokémon, but I adore the sci-fi nature, the well-balanced gameplay (except for the fact that the Force Throw was recently banned for being overpowered), and the great chase cards of each set. That last part's my favorite bit of any good TCG.
As the third expansion, Twilight of the Republic takes you to the underrated Clone Wars era of Star Wars - for anyone unaware, this is prequel territory, no Darth Vader just yet. This set works well as a starting point for anyone interested in playing this card game, as the various characters, from leaders to your armies, are fairly self-contained. You could easily have a Clone Wars-style deck and not need to buy singles from other expansions.
You've also got those Showcase Foil cards to try and collect in order to make your deck (or collection) more stylish. Yoda - Sensing Darkness [Showcase Foil] #261 remains Twilight of the Republic's most sought-after card, while the excellent Anakin Skywalker - What it Takes to Win [Showcase Foil] #269 gives you an essential card for those who love our chosen one, who is definitely not a villain in the later movies, I promise.
If you've been waiting for a time to dive into Star Wars Unlimited, or you're hoping to take advantage of a Black Friday sale to fill your binders up with, you can grab a Twilight of the Republic booster box for just $39.99 at Miniature Market. That's a truly impressive deal, and I yearn for those prices as a Pokémon collector, especially when you consider the fact that it's 24 packs for a total of 384 cards.
We're going to be covering other excellent Black Friday bargains over the shopping event of the year, so make sure to join our Wargamer Discord for other discounts. That includes anything from board games to D&D or anything in between, so don't miss out on those major deals.
