We regularly report on deals and discounts for Warhammer 40k videogames, because, if you’re anything like us, you don’t want to miss chances to visit Games Workshop’s grimdark galaxy on-screen, but also don’t have cash to pay full whack for every new title. If so, it’s worth keeping the Humble Choice subscription on your radar.
For those who don’t know, Humble Choice is a $12 per month subscription service that gets you special prices on individual games in the Humble web store, and a selection of ‘free’ games every month (i.e. included in your subscription price and free to keep via Steam).
We check it regularly for deal coverage because it often includes some of the best Warhammer 40k games in its monthly selections (not to mention a few of the best Warhammer fantasy games).
Most recently, the November 2024 Humble Choice selection included Warhammer 40k: Darktide – a magnificent Left 4 Dead-style co-op shooter that’s genuinely as fun for complete newbies as it is for long-time 40k fans, and thus makes for a brilliant way to recruit pals into the hobby.
Even when they’re not in your monthly packet of free-to-keep titles, Humble Choice gives you standing discounts of up to 20% off games – including the following maximum savings we’ve found on Warhammer 40k bangers:
- Up to $12 off Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2
- Up to $10 off Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor – Martyr
- Up to $8 off Warhammer 40k: Armageddon
- Up to $8 off Warhammer 40k: Battlesector
- Up to $4.40 off Warhammer 40k: Boltgun
- Up to $4 off Warhammer 40k: Battle Sister
Your level of discount depends on how long you’ve stayed on the subscription, so if you’re just dipping in as a one-off, you won’t get the full 20% saving – BUT your subscriber’s discount DOES stack with regular store sale prices, which can work out to a pretty strong offer.
For example, right now Space Marine 2 is discounted by 20%, or $12, until Wednesday, December 18 – the same amount as a Humble Choice subscription costs. So if you subscribe now, you can effectively get SM2 at regular price (minus your initial Choice discount), and ten other games with it, including Hooded Horse’s excellent Old World, one of the best 4X games of recent years.
And, as with the regular Humble Bundles, 5% of your monthly subscription goes to Humble’s chosen charity of the month.
Given the regularity of Warhammer-themed promotions at Humble, we think it’s a fair bet more of our favorite grimdark games will get deals there from time to time – and we’ll keep this piece updated when there’s a particularly strong combined saving to be had by picking up Humble Choice.
