Classic modern board games Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, and Mysterium have each been translated into their own themed puzzle ‘adventure’, to be collected together in a new crossover escape room board game for Space Cowboys’ Unlock! The Game series. It’s coming out on December 3, 2021 in France, with a UK release slated for the first three months of 2022. There’s no word yet on the game coming to the US and Canada.
Announced in a series of tweets from the Space Cowboys account, the three-part box set, titled Unlock! Game Adventures, is a collaboration between the different board games’ various publishers – all of which are owned by Paris-based board gaming conglomerate Asmodee International.
As per the previous three-part escape room bundles in the Unlock! Series, the three adventures represent different difficulty levels: Days of Wonder’s delightful train-laying treat Ticket to Ride is level one; Libellud’s ghost-whispering whodunnit Mysterium is level two; and Z-Man Games’ disease-fighting co-op classic Pandemic is the trickiest of the bunch.
A new Unlock! The Game release had been teased via Space Cowboys’ Twitter account as far back as early October – but only last week did the company firm up plans for the game, and put out the December 3 French release date.
